Still Head Shoulder Rotation
How To Do It
Body Position:
- Laying face down in the water
- Hands at your sides, relaxed but making contact with your body
- Legs extended out behind you
- Head and neck in a neutral position with your eyes looking down
- Make your body as long as you can
The Movement:
- Kick across the pool maintaining your body position
- Rotate from your core until your right shoulder makes contact with your chin, then return to center
- Rotate until your left shoulder makes contact with your chin, then return to center
- Keep your head still and your eyes looking straight down throughout the rotation
- Without a snorkel, breathe after completing one rotation to each side, then repeat
Things To Focus On:
- Float as high as you can in the water
- Keep your head, hips and heels in one straight line
- Use a strong enough kick to maintain your balance through the rotation
- Rotate from your core
- Bring your shoulder to your chin — not your chin to your shoulder
