Team SwimFast Membership: Agreement

Welcome to Team SwimFast. I’m looking forward to helping you in the coming weeks, months and maybe even years as you embark on your journey to become a faster, more efficient swimmer. Know that you’re going to feel challenged at times, but I promise you, you will see your technique improve, your swim endurance is going to build up and your confidence is going to grow!

Before we get going, there are a couple housekeeping and legal details I’d like to set straight so we are both on the same page as we kick off the coaching process.

Please read through this carefully & then Submit the Form at the Bottom of the Page signalling we are clear to move forward!

My Commitment To You:

The way I coach is a little different to what you will find from many other coaches.. If you just need a set of workouts each week, I am the wrong person for you. My job is to help you get results. To help you reach your swimming goals and to help you have fun doing it. Swimming is hard work (but you’re ok with that 😉), to help you my philosophy goes beyond just a series of workouts.

I’m going to ask you a lot of questions, about your training, your life, your schedule & energy levels, the way you think about swimming and triathlon and any other variables I think will have an impact on your performance. I take this and turn around to give you an evolving personal plan – based on your on your ability, goals, your limiters and your schedule.

As a Member of TeamSwimFast, you can expect:

☑️ Between 1-5 weekly workouts emailed to you each week either following your 1-1 session with me OR on a Sunday at the start of each week.

☑️ Workouts and goal times adjusted for unique pool length, travel or other requirements (please note your responsibility in order to make this happen)

☑️ Coaching advice tailored to your specific situation and goals.

☑️ Emailed feedback on all workouts completed.

☑️ Periodic video analysis of your stroke.

☑️ Access to the SF Online Portal with Drill & Education Videos & Audio Files.

☑️ That I will clearly communicate in advance any time you may have a delay in feedback, workouts or communication with me while I travel or am on leave from work

Your Responsibilities as a SwimFast Team Member:

Over the last 17 years of coaching swimming (and being an athlete myself) I have learned that the coaching process is not a one way street. It’s a partnership. One that requires a lot of communication and commitment from both parties. That means that you carry a big responsibility in this quest to become a faster more efficient swimmer. I am here to help you, but I can’t do it for you!

While we work together, I expect:

☑️ You understand that the only way to get the results you want is to get in and swim. Executing on the programs I write for you as set and prescribed.

☑️ You communicate the number of workouts you can complete each week and make every reasonable effort to stick to your commitment

☑️ You send me the link or breakdown and feedback on every SF workout within 24 hours of completion to workouts{at}icanswimfast.com with the subject line written in the format:
Month – Week – Session Number. EG June W2 S1

☑️ Adjustments to your workouts for pool length, travel etc can be made. These can often be a little more challenging to write up, so barring any last minute changes to plan, please plan ahead and make any requests for different pool lengths, open water workouts or other requests prior to Saturday morning each week.

☑️ You communicate any illness, injury, professional or family duties, or travel that will impact your training or training plan. As an armature AG Triathlete I do not expect that training is the number one priority in your life and am very understanding of your career, your family and travel commitments. This is why your plan isn’t cookie cutter and is tailored to your needs. However, I do expect you to understand that {a} in order for me to help you I need to know what’s going on with your training and the variables in your life that affect it. And {b} you will get out of this process in equal measure to what you put in. I also expect that you will communicate clearly with me any time something comes up that will impact your training or training plan.

How To Communicate With Me:

Email:

Email is 100% the most effective way of communicating with me. I have a dedicated email address (workouts{at}icanswimfast.com) set up for paying clients to send workouts and questions to. This address guarantees a response from me in the shortest time.

WhatsApp:

For the first few years after starting SwimFast I managed all my communication on WhatsApp. As my client list has grown I have tried multiple ways to managed and stay on top of my WhatsApp chats but due to the volume coming in and the time I have allocated, none of them have been successful. Email allows me to organize, file, tag, remind, and manage communication with you far more effectively. If you have a burning question or need to let me know something urgently, WhatsApp is a good way to go, but for 99% of our communication, please stick to email.
